I’ve been to Paris just before the Christmas time. Winter in Paris is such a lovely time to visit the city. All the lights, decorations and the cozyness of going into a cafe and drinking a hot chocolate. There’s a different vibe in the city compared to the summer. These are the best places to take pictures in Paris.
I spammed my Instagram with the dozens of Instagram stories about winter in Paris. Truth be told – every street has something nice to capture. It’s the Paris vibe where all the buildings look the same yet different. A different vibe per neighbourhood. Different cafes in every street. Another market just a few streets ahead. That’s what I love about Paris and what I love capturing with my camera.
I usually do photo diaries after every trip where I show my favorite pictuers. Since I’ve already done a Paris Photo Diary, I decided to change it up a little bit. Instead of just showing the pictures, I’ve decided to add the location and talk you through these places.
Montmartre – Sacre Coeur
Montmartre is one of my favorite neighbourhoods in Paris. I’ve always been a creative girl, ever since I was little so I love this creative neighbourhood. The artists are incredible and it’s so much fun to see their work. The Sacré-Coeur is something you just can’t miss. It’s prominent in Montmartre and amazing to see. You can go inside, we decided not to because there was a véry long line.

Montmartre – The Artist Square
This is what I just mentioned before. This square is always super busy with tourists and artists. Definitely the most crowded spot in Montmartre along with the Sacre Coeur. However, if you go here – this is a must-see. You can decide have yourself painted by an artist or buy one of their paintings! There are enough cafes around this square to enjoy a hot chocolate or a nice coffee to warm up.

Visit the back streets to fully enjoy the winter in Paris!
If you are a first-time Paris visitor – it’s so tempting to walk along the big streets. It’s easier to find your way around Paris but you’ll miss some hidden gems if you do this. Paris is gorgeous and the back streets are so pretty. It’s more quiet and easier to snap pictures from the not-so-standard buildings and streets.

The Eiffel Tower from different angles
Gotta admit, you have to snap a picture of the Eiffel Tower when you’re in Paris. It’s so cliché, but it’s such a prominent building in the city. There are a lot of different spots to take a picture where it doesn’t look as standard as other places, like from Trocadéro. The backstreets around the Eiffel Tower are perfect to get a more renewed picture.

Strike a pose at Palais Royal
This spot is right after the Louvre if you cross the street and walk around the building. I searched for 5 minutes to find the entrance during my first visit. You have to cross Rue Rivoli from the Louvre and the building is right in front of you. The entrance is on the left side of this building, right next to the corner of a lovely café! It’s not that busy here, it’s easy to snap a picture without people on it if you come a little earlier during the day.

l’Howea is even more pretty with winter in Paris
This street is next to the Eiffel Tower as well and it’s the perfect spot to take pictures. The flower store on the corner is called l’Howea and it’s a popular spot to take pictures. If it’s too crowded, walk around the streets next to this one and you should be able to take a nice picture as well!
These were my favorite places to take pictures with winter in Paris. You can obviously go to these places if you visit Paris in another season. However, I do really love to spend winter in Paris, it’s so different compared to my earlier visits in the summer! Do you have a favorite spot in Paris to take pictures?
