The island Mallorca (or spelled as Majorca) is part of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It’s a small island with a turquoise colored ocean, pure white beaches, high mountains with amazing views and a perfect capital to explore. These are the reasons to visit Mallorca!

Mallorca is a Spanish island located in the Balearic Islands with the other islands like Ibiza and Menorca. This island is popular among teens to visit El Arenal and party all night long, couples to enjoy the romantic sides of the island and families to spend their quality time in the small bays on the east side of the island. It’s a perfect diverse island for every type of traveller – enough reasons to visit Mallorca!

Natural scenery and beautiful beaches

No matter where you go on the island – you’ll find the most gorgeous beaches. From long strokes of sand on the south side of the island right next to the capital Palma de Mallorca, to the small bays on the east side of the island. Mountains arise when you go further to the north and west side of the island.

The Gothic Cathedral in Palma de Mallorca

This mesmerizing cathedral is the biggest building in Palma de Mallorca and it’s one of the biggest cathedrals, if not the biggest, I have ever seen in my life. It’s absolutely mind blowing to stand in front of it. The cathedral is open for public and I highly recommend exploring the inside because it is very pretty and impressive. This one just had to be on this list of reasons to visit Mallorca!

Picturesque villages and towns

Mallorca has a big variety of small villages and bigger towns. One of my favorite villages is Cala d’Or on the east side of the island. It only has white houses and hotels only a few floors high to keep the view on this town. The beaches are small bays with absolute crystal clear water. Other pretty villages are Banyalbufar and Valldemosa, located on a hill/mountain with a pretty view as well! The diversity of villages and towns is definitely one of the reasons to visit Mallorca.

Amazing (healthy & vegan) food places

The restaurants and cafes in Palma de Mallorca and the smaller villages have developed over the years and it’s not hard to find amazing healthy and even vegan food places on this island. Especially the big city Palma de Mallorca has incredible food places and cafes to discover.

Gorgeous viewpoints like Cap de Formentor

Since Mallorca has a few mountains, the island has incredible viewpoints as well. One of the popular ones is Cap de Formentor which definitely needs to be on your to-see-list. This is such a good one to have on your list of reasons to visit Mallorca because this viewpoint is mind blowing. If you’re a fan of sunsets or sunrises like me – this spot is perfect to enjoy the sunrise or sunset.

The island is full of life

The island is so diverse and many different type of travellers visit Mallorca – couples, teenagers, families and older couples. This makes it the perfect island to visit ’cause it is definitely full of life. It’s a popular island and it’s definitely more busy in the towns and villages like Cala d’Or and Palma de Mallorca. However, it is easy to escape the crowds if you go more to the west and north side of the island!

Incredible road trips

The infrastructure on Mallorca is pretty well made and the drives around the island are breath-taking. Take the road up to the mountains to enjoy the view, drive down on the other side to find hidden beaches to enjoy all by yourself, stop at cafes next to the road and soak up the Mallorca life. Definitely rent a car if you are visiting Mallorca, the island is quite small which makes it perfect for road trips!

Find great escapes

The last one of the reasons to visit Mallorca but definitely not the least reason. Mallorca has a lot of hidden places and hidden gems to escape. One of my favorite moments of my time here was taking a small train to Port de Soller and get into a tram in this town. It’s located next to the water and harbour and it’s possible to take a boat tour from this town as well. Definitely a pretty town to discover if you’re close.


These were all the reasons to visit Mallorca and honestly, I have been here five times already and I still want to go back and explore the island again. It’s my favorite place to explore. I can’t wait to go back in the future, rent a car and do the perfect road trip!
